The Pottery Workshop, Jingdezhen has been working with Cambridge’s Fitzwilliam Museum to get a project off the ground since 2010. We are happy that Edmund de Waal, James Lin and Tao Tao Chang are able to visit Jingdezhen to gather experiences and insights. If you are in Jingdezhen on Friday, please come to The Pottery Workshop Education Center at 7:30pm to hear what Edmund will share with the Jingdezhen community.
China’s future is looking brighter as a cycling club begins their journey with moral and financial support from our staff, resident artists and friends in the community. This is our Resident Artists Jae Hyun Jim. She was born in Korea and now goes to school in the United States. At 18, Jae is the youngest Resident Artist at The Pottery Workshop, Jingdezhen. Her pleasant demeanor and work ethic has impress her community. The bird chopstick holders she has designed and created will serve as fundraisers for children with cleft palettes. We wish her the best in her next adventure!!!
Malin Jansson returns to Jingdezhen from Malmo, Sweden. This is her second time to The Pottery Workshop, Jingdezhen as a Resident Artist. In March, Malin lead a group of students to Jingdezhen and Malin stayed to focus on her own designer jewelry after they returned home in early April. The year of the Dragon has begun. We have hit the ground running and the cold winter months are behind us. On February 20th, the staff reported for duty and we have are happy to welcome three new members to our team. November has been a great month at The Pottery Workshop, Jingdezhen. Residency is full of international artists and we always try to do a little something to celebrate birthdays. November has been a splendid month. The mild temperature, sunny days and a full Residency has offered many rewards. The staff at The Pottery Workshop, Jingdezhen have been organizing “adventures” around the city. Resident Artists with a couple of hours to spare from the busy studio are taken to some places of interest around town. Sometimes we go into nature, other times we venture downtown.
